Germain Droogenbroodt
I Will Write For You…
I will write for
you a poem of love
when in the
evening grey
an exhausted bird
vainly seeks
a place to sleep
I will write for
you a poem of love
when the lantern
of the moon
offers to the
night
a glimpse of
light
I will write for
you a poem of love
when the sun
paints with its red
the hope of dawn
I will write for
you a poem of love
when a gentle
breeze caresses
the wrinkled face
of the heart
I will write for
you a poem of love
when so high in the
sky
two clouds
embrace
in a kiss of
love.
Prayer
May my mind
be as pure
as this moment
of sunlight and
blackbird voice
unworried
the why-
to which all
replies fail
excepting that
which in a multiplicity
of leaves and
colours may offer:
the rose.
Last Verse
Of all verses
ever written
I want to be for
you the last verse
the last line, my
light
my spring, my
palpable life.
My fingers of
satin
will play on the
ivory of your body
and dance with
your caressing fingers erotic tangos
and passionate
sevillanas
Like sweet grapes
of autumn
I will sift your
hairs one by one
and sail on the
deep lakes of your eyes
I will get drunk
from their glints
and from the
nectar of your mouth
and enter in your
very own life.
