The Moon

Hello, my midnight soul mate.

You keep coming back to get relief

Without delay, always on time.

What’s the reason you hide

behind these night clouds?

No need to blush

No need to cry

Just tell me what people dream about

on the other side of the world

You will feel relieved…

No need to worry

No dawn will get to know your secrets

I will keep them at the bottom of my heart

since this is what friends do.

KSIĘŻYCU

Witaj, moja bratnia duszo północy.

Wciąż wracasz do mnie jak po ukojenie

bez zbędnej zwłoki, zawsze na czas.

Dlaczego zatem chowasz twarz

za tymi ciemnymi chmurami?

Nie wstydź się

Nie roń łez

Zwyczajnie powiedz o czym śnią ludzie

na drugiej stronie świata.

To przyniesie ci ulgę…

Nie martw się,

żaden poranek nie ujrzy twoich tajemnic.

Zachowam je na dnie mojego serca,

bo tak robią przyjaciele.

My Midsummer Night’s Dream

Shakespeare was also in love in Summer.

All clocks were asleep

and midnight woke up with an explosion

as the sky burst with stars.

My name is Hermia.

I slow my thoughts down,

let them go into unknown

to take refuge from solitude.

Jf you hear the knocking sound,

open the window

as wide as your arms.

Can you feel warm, gentle gusts?

These are my thoughts

that have just found their home.

MÓJ SEN NOCY LETNIEJ

Szekspir także kochał latem.

Zegary zasypiały,

a północ budziła eksplozją,

gdy niebo wybuchało gwiazdami.

Hermia to ja.

Spowalniam moje myśli,

pozwalam im odpłynąć w nieznane,

by szukały schronienia przed samotnością.

Jeśli słyszysz pukanie,

otwórz okno

równie szeroko jak ramiona.

Czujesz ciepłe, przyjemne podmuchy?

To właśnie myśli moje

odnalazły schronienie.

Shooting Star

On the roof of my house

I hide the telescope

which the eye I use

for watching

how the moon is getting old,

how it covers with wrinkles

with each fight between

the stars of the same galaxy.

But they all shine the same

reflecting the same light

which no more exists

and each of them

will need to hit the ground

in order to make ones wish.

On the roof of my house

there’s a space for loneliness for two.

Just me and the rest of universe.

I patiently wait for a shooting star

to fall straight under my feet

and to fall asleep next to my midnight poem.

SPADAJĄCA GWIAZDA

Na dachu mojego domu

ukrywam lunetę,

przez której oko

podglądam

jak starzeje się księżyc,

jak każdej nocy

przybywa mu zmarszczek

od ciągłych sporów

gwiazd jednej plejady.

A przecież wszystkie

świecą tak samo,

tym samym światłem,

którego już nie ma,

i każdej kiedyś przyjdzie

wrócić na ziemię,

chociażby po to

by spełniać marzenia.

Na dachu mojego domu

istnieje samotność we dwoje.

Tylko ja i bezkresne niebo.

Cierpliwie czekam, aż pod moje stopy

spadnie jedna z gwiazd

i zaśnie tuż obok mojego wiersza.
