The Restless Soul
In the wee hours
When most are
sleeping
I am awake
My mind still
creeping
Around the
corners
Of darkened
places
Around the garden
With mounds and
spaces
Around the places
Where all lie
resting
I find myself
In deep unrest
I wander quietly
Afraid of waking
The endless
wonder
Of all I’m seeing
And though I try
To quietly lie
Here in the
darkness
My mind takes
flight
To loving places
Where my heart
sleeps
There in the
garden
A lullaby
It sets my soul

Walk With Me, Oh Lord
Walk with me, Oh
Lord,
In the shadows
When I walk in
fear,
Stand with me
On the highest
peaks
While I face the
abyss
Hold me, Lord
When I’ve lost my
way
And I shake in
doubt
Wash me with Your
blood
Like a powerful
waterfall
Cleansing me in
Your spray
Of love
I am a new being
Like a butterfly,
I seek
The most
beautiful
Of flowers
And honey sweet
I soar in
greenest meadows
I am flying free
Amazed at all the
splendor
You have made for
me
Lord,
I return to shore
To the Rock of
Ages
When the day is
done
And there are
yet,
Tasks to do
In the brightest
ray
Of the setting
Sun
I’ll come home
To You

The Night Train
I heard
The whistle
blowing
And woke from
Deepest slumber
Alert, fully
awake
I drank some tea
Sat to dot a note
A to do list
For tomorrow
So many tasks
Yet to attend
I stir restless
In my skin
My feet
Needing to move
To get away
All aboard is
called
As I get on
The train
A silvery moon
shines
Brightly in the
star studded sky
Peaceful is the
night
Some passengers
barely awake
Mumble briefly
Then nod off to
sleep
I keep to myself
Feeling all alone
No familiar
sights
The dead of night
Gives way to
The new born day
Lighting the way
To golden sunshine
And heaven’s blue
Ahead , I see
I have arrived
At my destination
I have left all
behind
I have
Two things
My soul,
My Heart
No bag at all
I bring with me
