Donna McCabe
Tired
Welcome to the hotel insomnia
where there is no chance of sleep
no soft pillows on which to rest
your head
or fluffy white jumping sheep.
Loneliness is a frequent guest
who plays mind games with your
head
there are no pills to soothe you
or no comfort in your bed.
Ticking clocks and rolling eyes
tells me restlessness has set in
pacing the boards at half past
four
should be classed as a cardinal
sin.
My mind is beginning to ache
as the sun begins to rise
she's the only one that knows my
pain
and hears my insomniac cries.

Enchantment
As I close my eyes and drift off
to sleep
I see the land of enchantment
Where love greets my feet
A magical world that's forever
exciting
A spectrum of colour
Forever inviting
So many journeys to have
So many different people to be
Tonight what to do
Where should I go
Then you show up and at once I
know
A mission in black
On a wild dazzling horse
Robes swinging wildly
In the swift, strong wind
A special adventure for you and
me
To the oasis of dreams
And the eyelids of trees
This friendship is forever
Your my best friend
You were there from the beginning
And I know you'll be there at the
end.

Dreamscapes
Sail away on the sea of hope
Bound for the land of love
Walk through the valley of dreams
come true
Whispered magic of earthly powers
Harmony floats upon the breeze
Fingers of twilight caress the
land
Like treasures of wisdom evading
my touch
The fading light, a velvet blue
sky
Carry me away into the night
Search the sky for moonbeams
Touch the sea of tenderness
Place the silver moon in my hands
Touch my heart and my soul
Touch the one you have come to
know
Touch the thoughts of my mind
Touch my life and you will find,
The castle of everlasting love
