Midnight Moments
1
In the still of
the night
Leaves stop
whispering
No sound, no peep
Not even a sigh
can be heard
Trees pretend to
sleep
Birds in their
nest
Fold their wings
for a rest
Silence speaks
2
Wide awake
Awaiting the
nightmare to disappear
Sweat on the
crumbled bed-sheets smells
One moonbeam fall
through the open window
Midnight is here
The bedroom
curtains sigh
Morning is far
from nigh
Silence listens
3
Waking up in a
lover’s arms
His nearness, his
warm breath
Knowing it’s
close to midnight
Wishing the night
never to end
Closing the eyes
Back into his
safe arms to creep
Returning to deep
sleep
Even Silence
sleeps
